The Vivitar VPT 3600 has a hook in the center that your camera bag or any weight can be hung from it to add even more stability. It needs to be strong but light weight enough so that you will not be tempted to leave it at home.

It might be difficult finding a pro quality one for that price unless you go to a pawn shop but considering consumer digicams don't have a reflex mirror that vibrates upon shutter release you could easily get by with one that is less than top pro quality. The original request was for a tripod under $50.00 for occasional slow shots every once in a while.
